By rights of the declaration of this constitution and by the people of this association subscribing to this Constitution by participating in its democratic processes, this constitution represents the one and only true constitution of the Republic of United Ireland.

| 2.2 |
Constitution as first and supreme law |
|
| |
As enacted, this constitution represents the first and supreme law of the Republic of United Ireland. No other law shall be recognized as first or higher than the principles and statements of this Constitution.
|

| |
The Constitution and law adopted by the institutions of the Nation in exercising competences conferred on it shall have primacy over the law of all regions, provinces and states. |
|
| |
No claim of subservience to any other religious or secular law shall be deemed valid and no law shall be sworn to in official statements of oath, pledge to honesty as a witness or any other capacity of government other than this Constitution itself in relation to the Republic of United Ireland.
|

Legal personality |

The Nation shall have legal personality. |
